Kate,
I have seen him on Oprah. His style is the "tough love", "get a rise from
the audience" kind - he will try to get in your face and make you admit what
you think or feel is either wrong and or holding you back in some way. He
will definitely be one of those men who tries to prove that women who nurse
past __ months or __ years (fill in the blanks) are doing do for their own
emotional fulfillment, to take the place of the partner (for those single
moms) or worse, to try to make the child take the place of the partner. He
loves to make people "get real" by being really blunt and taking any chance
he gets. For instance, on a show about weight loss, Oprah chimed in about
how some people *are* genetically thin and he jumped on the chance to say
"yeah, but honey, THAT AIN'T YOU!", getting a laugh even out of Oprah.
Mary Kay Robinson made a great letter (to Oprah) using his own rules in
support of breastfeeding, see archives:

Since the vast majority of his audience formula feed and are probably
detached parents who see LLL as a bunch of zealots, he will either want
people he can make out to look like zealots, or "regular" folks who somehow
got stuck in this weird activity, maybe because of the zealots.
Notice there is no show about kids who won't give up a bottle at age 5 or 6
(there are many!!) why? Formula/bottle feeding is the norm, so of course
kids will hang on to it longer. However, "perfect, special, ideal"
breastfeeding is a joy to continually discredit.
Why do they want pictures? That seems weird.
