Throw a nipple shield on her, squirt some expressed milk into the shield
while baby is on the shield. Try it with patience a couple of times!! I
find some moms with extremely flat nipples, where they weren't *flat* before
pregnancy or labor, after a long exposure to pitocin and/or other fluids
during labor and delivery. I always check to see if the ankles, feet and
hands are swollen too. If so, it is usually temporary, as is the use of the
shield for about 10 to 14 days.
