Hi, I am hoping someone with lots of NICU experience can help me here. Have a mom wanting to breastfeed, and has been on Effexor for several months. Will this drug be harmful in the case of the drug getting through to the preemie infant? If this were a full term baby, I would be much more at ease at waiting and watching for the effects, if any, of this drug, but am not sure if this is advisable for such a small immature infant.

Thanks for any info or opinions you might have on this subject.

Brenda Phipps, BS, IBCLC
