The archives contain this information, which I have posted multiple times. A good reference is from a pharmacy journal. I read the article on line.
W Pray: Consult your pharmacist: Dermititis causes are diverse, U.S. Pharmacist 2000; 25(8):14-24.
Several salient points of the article: "The skin normally resists irritation, but some individuals, including...postpartum females...have an enhanced sensitivity." Further on in the article: "An underappreciated sensitizer is neomycin, a component of the most commonly sold topical anitbiotic products (e.g. Mycitracin, Neosporin)...Since the appearance of an allergy to neomycin can cause cross-sensitivites with other aminoglycosides, such as gentamicin, the patient should be urged to choose a topical antibiotic free of neomycin."
