I respectfully disagree here with you, dr karp.
First the choice of peppermint for a newborn seems odd to me. Peppermint is
strong working herb with agressive essential oils in it. I see it as
unfiotted for small children, let alone newborns.
Second, everything that is in babies stomach does interfere with his
perception of need for food (even if this is only short in duration) and will
decrease the amount of breastmilk he gets and thus the amount of milk asked
from the mothers body thus not working towards an optimal milkyield.
Charing strategies to optimize moms timemanagement and methods to optimise
baby's intake at breast can also work in regard of helping *busy* moms
meeting the needs of their children.
