Hello Ola -
There are a few adoptive mom/breastfeeding LCs on this list that I am sure
will give you more information.
In my private practice, I do see moms induce lactation. It is rare for me
to see a mom produce enough milk to feed her adoptive baby, regardless of
the method of inducing the supply. I do see occasional moms who exclusively
breastfeed. The most impressive case that I have seen is a woman who's
babies were born to a surrogate. The genetic mother who was not pregnant
used pumping and hormones to bring in a milk supply. The TWIN babies were
exclusively breastfed from 2 days until 3 months of age when I had my last
contact with the mom.
