To those who offered me suggestions. Since I said I would report
back:
Unfortunately, I was sick and could not get to the presentation.
What I would have liked to ask is this:
Many years ago (I think it was at least 15) when DHA and AA were
first identified, fish oil (which I understand Ross uses as it's
source) was shown to have the 2 in a different ratio than what is in
human milk. It was felt that the different ratio rendered the
"benefits" much less effective. Have they subsequently found a way
to change the ratio or are they giving babies a ratio very different
that that in human milk.
Also-when Mead Johnson forst came out with Lipil, Ross was
pooh-poohing it as not proven effective. I find it very interesting
that now that their 50% market share is being challenged they are
jumping on the bandwagon. Is this a concern for profits or for
what's best for infants? (Of course, we know the real answer, but I
wonder how they would respond.)
If anyone else gets to hear this presentation, I would be interested
if you hear answers to either of these questions.
