Coming out of lurkdom to respond here as I specifically asked a mom of 19
month old twins today at our toddler meeting how she dealt with night
nursing. Basically, she said she had to force herself to lie on her back
all night. She placed a pillow on either side as well as pillows to
support her arms and the babies. The babies each had a side and they
would sleep in the crook of their respective arms. The boy slept
(sleeps) in the middle of the bed as he was a wild sleeper, and the girl
on the outside. Her complaints were that their heads cut off the
circulation in her arms and that she is unable to move *at all* all night
long because if she turned away from either one, they woke up and fussed.
She says, however, that now at 19 mos she is able to sleep comfortably
like this, but that in the morning she sends the kids out with her dh so
that she can just roll over for 1/2 hour before getting up. She said
that this has worked from the beginning and she is not large breasted at
all.
