Just wanted to say that while my own son had no difficulty nursing with a
very tight frenulum, I don't take an extended wait and see approach with my
own patients.  If baby or mom is having any difficulty at all, I try to
encourage clipping before baby even leaves the hospital.  That way, I can
usually have time to spend with the pair after the procedure and our nurses
and IBCLC can help with re-learning latch.  Once baby and mom go home, they
tend to feel even more frustrated than in hospital, and no one is often
immediately available to help them.
I never noticed it with my own son (I was 17 then, with no idea of any kind
about proper anatomy!) and no doctor or nurse ever even mentioned it.
