I never knew that! How interesting. Here in the Netherlands mothers who
formula feed (and those who don't!) get the formula from the hospital. It
comes in pre-bottled ready to go form, complete with manufacturers lable
etc. I've never been able to get to the bottome of whether this is freely
provided by the formual manufacturers though. Be really interested to find
out. When they go home, they often get given a few bottles to tide them over
for the rest of the day. When they get home, there will be (in theory) a
mother/baby carer waiting on the doorstep who will take on the task of
teaching mother how to formula feed. Thus, formula feeding is extremely easy
in most Dutch hospitals.
