I have enjoyed the discussion regarding swaddling and thank all for their
input!
I was especially intrigued by the discussion between Drs. Ball and Karp
regarding swaddling while co-sleeping and agreed with Dr. Ball's concern
about the babe's inability to free himself when wedged if "stuck" in a
papoose. Because we have recongnized overheating as a risk factor for SIDS, I
would ALSO be concerned about the babe's body temperature if swaddled in bed
between warm, blanketed adults. A light, loose blanket wrap would be one
thing but the tight "hospital" wrap seems very risky.
