Loretta,

My suggestion to finding the allergen culprit would be for her to take baby
to someone who was kinesiology tester (naturopath, nutritionist) and have
both mother and baby tested; this is non-invasive, accurate testing by
measuring muscle strength after exposure to holding suspected allergen and/or
(i think) putting minute amt of substance under tongue. It's not mainstream
medicine but I've known moms and babies who've had this done by above
mentioned HCP's with accurate and helpful results without trying to play a
guessing game of elimination of foods.

The other possibility is that dairy not entirely eliminated so mom has to
check all labels for dairy, like whey, caesin. Top allergens after dairy are
soy, corn, wheat, peanuts and other nuts. According to nutritionist/LC
friend of mine, a very bland diet for 2-3 wks might be worth trying and then
introducing one suspected allergen at a time and observing for baby's
reaction. Bland diet suggested is turkey or chicken, sweet potatoes, rice,
and green leafy veggies-spinach, romaine lettuce).

Books abound on the subject, one recommended by moms with allergies and
children with same _"Is This Your Child?" by Doris Rapp, MD. LLL has a
pamphlet on allergies and BF baby and probably info on their website.
