Breastfeeding twins lying down CAN be done! I nursed mine this way by
starting out with one twin next to me in the traditional side lying
position. The other twin then lay on top of the bottom twin, more or less.
It was easier when they were >2 months since the heavier they get the
harder it would be on the bottom baby. They weren't truly stacked on
eachother though-- the top twin was leaning more towards me on an angle. I
stuck a rolled up blanket btwn the babies also. Lot's of pillows behind
mom's back  helps a lot. Another way to do it is to lay back on a few
pillows, and tandem nurse both babies in a variation of the football hold.
A very doable position with firm pillows under & beside the babies.
