An older gentleman evaluator asked me about the cabbage leaf treatment for
engorgement, I was so surprised- as it was not one of the questions I
expected.
I said that yes, we do suggest this as one option for treating engorgement
and he cited some recent literature in support of its use. I enjoyed the
interchange as it seemed that JCAHO placed significant value on the
Lactation service, in a room full of other professionals, RNs,
administrators, dieticians, etc
Thanks for asking.
