You know what, hon, I don't care about the undermining thing as much as all
that. If the doctor is interfering with mothering, she needs a new doctor!!
I just tell them that it works, that doctors know little about stuff like
this, blah, blah, blah. I use the analogy of the alcohol on the
umbilicus--you know--most hospitals now know that alcohol makes the cord take
longer to fall off, but a few hospitals don't yet know this (none of those in
our area know it!!, but my implication is that theirs is the only one in the
Dark Ages) and so mothers keep getting told to use it. I sday the bathin
issue is exactly the same and soon everyone will be telling mothers to bathe
babies. We can hope, right?

I am best reached in the evening here--Thursday night, Friday night after
8:15 (my time). My older two will be at homeschool camp next week--I will be
around a lot more during the day, too.
