Wendi, I don't know the answer to your question as I'm not hospital
administration involved.  I would like to say tho that significant decrease
in mortality r/t GBS infections in babies has been reported since they have
become more aggressive about perinatal use of antibiotics and increased
testing.  Which is a good thing as much as we all hate the after effects r/t
bf that we see from the intrapartum abx. (like thrush :-(  The death of an
infant r/t Beta strep in the peripartum is very quick, ugly and so sad.
