Jay at the unit where I occasionally work we don't "look" for GBS, but if a
pregnant woman has had swabs or cultures done for other reasons and GBS has
been picked up we are obliged to then treat her during labour.
However, just how many woman do have undiagnosed GBS and are therefore
untreated is anyone's guess.
