Ketosis in pregnancy is known to be teratogenic if severe in the first
trimester...I don't know much else, but I do know it has been studied. When
I was doing OB I remember that the poor weight gain in obese women who are
pregnant could be detrimental due to chronic low grade ketosis. Anne Eglash
