For those of you who haven't seen it yet,
this week's Newsweek (lead article on affirmative
action) has a brief piece on the co-sleeping issue
that's been in the news so much recently.
I must say I have overall been pleased with the
coverage of this issue that I have seen. Most of
the articles mention that co-sleeping is good
for breastfeeding and that there is little evidence
of its dangers that have been touted for so long.
This really seems to me to be a case of people doing
what they know is right and the leaders eventually
catching up.
For all the "research" and bad press that co-sleeping
was getting, people are doing it anyway, so the
establishment and researchers are coming up with
what seem to be sensible guidelines for safe co-sleeping.
I hope this trend continues.
