I had read enough with my first (case study of one, ha ha ha) to know
that frequent nursing and co-sleeping were what would help us out to
begin with.
She nursed all night long the first night and most of the night after
that for a while (permalatch baby). She slept with us obviously and
never passed 3 hours without nursing during the night or day when a
newborn (I didn't let her). Probably until 3 weeks was when I woke her
after 3 hours...after that I did not any longer.
She was 6 lbs 8 oz at birth and stayed that way for 2 days (but didn't
drop), and gained 2 oz by day 3 and I don't even remember how much by
the following days. Never lost anything and was never jaundiced...
