"Over the weekend, baby was constipated and fussy and mom
assumed it was her diet. ... Mom stopped nursing for two
days (pumped and dumped) and gave formula. Baby stooled
3-4 times a day. Mom has started back to nursing this
am so we have yet to see what the effect will be on
stooling."
Someone else will probably mention this: but, what is her definition of
constipation - failure to stool, or hard stools? Until she started solids
at 6 months, my exclusively BF daughter stooled once every 4 days or so. I
wasn't worried about it (and neither was her pedi) because it was soft and
typically BF stool. Except that it was a HUGE amount guaranteed to soak
through her clothes.
Marita (who was always happy when it was someone else's turn to change her
on "those" days.)
