When I was in private practice, I had one mom whose baby was off mom's milk
for months after a GI infection. This mom, like the one you describe, had
nursed previous children and was not willing to give up the hope of getting
back to breastfeeding. She pumped for a long time...many months...and
eventually the baby was able to be weaned back onto her milk. My memory
doesn't give me more details, like whether the baby went back to the breast,
but I think that did happen too. I'm quite sure the baby was under a year
old...probably around nine months...when able to return to nursing.
Hi, Folks. I'm back on Lactnet after a long time. It's nice to be here.
