Susan, I'm confused, is the surgeon who is doing the breast surgery a
Breast Surgeon or is he a General Surgeon, if the latter, should she not
change to a Breast Surgeon, surely?
Helen Woodman
National Childbirth Trust Breastfeeding Counsellor, UK
<<I had a mother contact me requesting information on breastfeeding
and "fat necrosis and necrosis of a fibroadenoma...Her note read as
follows:>> <<MY SURGEON RECOMMENDS STOP BREAST FEEDING DUE TO FAT NECROSIS
I need guidance from someone who supports breastfeeding. My son is nearly
six months old and well above average in weight & height. I had hoped to
express milk at work through the end of December and continue evening &
nighttime breastfeeding through May. However, my general surgeon thinks I
should quit breastfeeding altogether. My next appt with him is 11-25-02.
Details of my situation follow.>>
