Alice...Wow! Beautifully said! I hadn't thought of the reason why some women don't breastfeed or don't exclusively breastfeed as being a basic mistrust of themselves. Not quite on that level. But, it rings so true. I can understand it on a personal level. Although I never questioned my
ability to provide milk for my babies, I have questioned my ability to provide other things. I have always said that I'm glad I nursed my children before I lived long enough to see all the things that can go wrong. I was too ignorant to worry about stuff like that then. And boy, am I glad I had
them before I became an L&D nurse!
Marsha, who thinks sometimes ignorance is bliss and who will watch #3 get his H.S. diploma this week!
