Hi,
I have a mother who is 6 months postpartum, weaned her child at 3 weeks of age, and is still flowing with milk. She can't seem to get this flow to stop.
This is mother's second child. Her first child was 4 weeks old when she weaned him, and she then got pregnant right away with this current baby.
I have referred this mother to her physician, but I am just wondering if anyone has a logical explanation for why this could be happening. I have heard of mothers with prolonged milk letdown after nursing a child for several months or years, but not for just 3 weeks.
Thanks,
