It is impossible to detect 'entirely normal cycles', or not, without
charting (symptothermal) one's cycle.

It is entirely possible to have the same pre-breastfeeding length cycle,
same amount of menstrual flow, but a shortened luteal phase (too short to
maintain a pregnancy for instance), or even to mistake bleeding at the
'normally' expected time as ovulatory menstrual bleeding, when it could in
fact be annovulatory in nature, just to give some examples.
