It's not just money that some men control. It's time and availability.
I have been speaking to a mother of a five-day old.

She has her sister to stay, who is happy to look after the older
child. Her husband, however, is resentful of her choice to bf.

We talked about ways to make the bf work (it didn't, first time
round). This involved suggestions such as co-bathing, co-sleeping,
skin to skin contact, holding the baby and so on (this is a baby who
was causing concern, as she just wasn't feeding well at all.).

The mother felt unable to do much of this, as 'I just have too many
other things I have to do, and my husband just wants me to put her on
the bottle and won't help.'

I felt so sad for her.

What is more important at *5 days post-natal* than being with the
baby and getting happy feeding off the ground?
