Its amazes me how quick the docters are to stop a mom from breastfeeding with
certain medications or think the moms need to not breastfeed based on a
particuliar medication but when it comes to reading the insert on Depo and
the possibility of decreasing the milk supply they don't bat an eye and
continue to give it right after delivery. We have seen moms drop their supply
with the Depo shot. What we hear from the docters is looking at the big
picture and moms not needing to be pregnant again especially with high risk
moms who had many complications. The doctors know it can happen with the Depo
but its the lesser of 2 evils so to speak. Have had this discussion many
times with the docters.
