That article states only that progesterone only rings are being developed -
Nuvaring is - to the best I can determine - NOT progesterone only. It
contains etonogestrel and ethinyl estradiol and so would be a combination
contraceptive. It also specifically warns that it will reduce milk supply.
The only progesterone only contraceptive available in the US at this time is
micronor, and possibly a few other brands of oral contraceptives.
So for now - Nuvaring is probably not going to a nursing mothers
contraceptive of choice.
