Have any of you seen head molding persist for many weeks? Saw an 8 week old
boy with severe elongation of the skull, mom states it was due to labor
dystocia and her pedi says it will diminish in time. Many yrs ago as NICU
nurse I did see term newborns with severe molding, but often by discharge at
day 3 or 4, much of the distortion was gone. I just am unsure if this is
normal and of course concerned re effects on suck as there also are ridges in
skull which is asymmetrical from forehead to back of his head. (suggested
CST)
I currently am having computer problems or would do an internet search for
this.
There are more problems with this baby but for now would just like this
question answered. Thank you.
