I had a recent call about Nuvoring, too.  It is not in Hale's book, but I
did a search on the internet and got the manufacturer's info.  It is a
combination product containing both estrogen and progesterone.  It is
contained in a flexible ring that is placed against the cervix and left
there for 3 weeks.  It is removed during menses and a new one is inserted
the following week.  It must be left in place at all times during those 3
weeks of the month.  It secretes a constant low-dose of estrogen and
progesterone.   Because it contains estrogen, it has the potential to affect
the milk supply the same way low-dose birth control pills do.
