Fio,
It's called insensible water loss. Babies sweat, breathe out water
vapor, etc. When test weights are done, they must be done immediately
before and immediately after the feeding, and on a scale manufactured
for that purpose (accurate to 1 or 2 grams). In addition, the baby must
be placed in the same position on the scale, with all little limbs
"inside" the scale basket.
