This one's easy. If need be, think of your membership as a charitable
donation. When people give to National Audubon, or their local United Way,
or American Cancer Society, they really don't expect *anything* in return,
at least not directly. They may get a member's magazine, but that's not
usually the reason for their contribution. All they really expect to get
back is a warm glow, and the hope that somewhere down the road, if enough
people give and the wheels are greased for long enough, there will be
results for *someone*, even if not for the donor. So heck, join for the
glow. It's what, 30 cents a day? You can't do *candles* for that :-)
