Lynn Shea posted on a very disrupted course of near-breastfeeding in
premature twins. From her post:
"Sadly she has also just started to gag herself with her fingers and
I'm wondering if this is the start of a more "mature" feeding disorder. Mom
adds grape pedialyte as well as karo syrup and prune juice to "flavor" the
expensive (but insurance payed for!) alimentum that the smaller receives."
Lynn, do you know whether this mother has a history of any eating disorder?
There are several red flags here, the force feeding, the need to distance
herself from them (not getting her milk, not breastfeeding), the lack of
ability to let them experience hunger and then satiety as normal comfortable
events...
