baby overheated? I suppose it could be overheated if the house is too warm
and/or if they cover the baby with several blankets on top of that, or try to
swaddle the baby who is wearing a blanket sleeper. But let's look at the
entire picture, and not throw swaddling out just because some parents may do
it inappropriately.
Bed-sharing is on the hot seat because some parents have done it
inappropriately. Does that mean no one should bedshare? No, it means we
have a responsibility to teach safe sleeping environments. Don't allow your
baby to become overheated. Don't put the temperature in your house up to 80
because there is a baby there -- don't over dress them. It's the overheating
that causes the problem -- not the swaddling.
