Actually, the wording of this statement reflects formula feeding as the cultural norm from which health and disease are measured. When breastfeeding is recognized as the biological norm--the foundation of normal (not superior) growth and development for mother and child--then the statement reads: "Formula feeding and insufficient breastfeeding increases women's risk of developing breast cancer."
