Jennifer,

We can't assume that infrequent stooling is the cause. If somebody wants to
figure it out they can look at exclusively bf babies--at those who stool
frequently and those who don't--to see if there is an association. The study
would have to be designed so mothers kept stooling records and then all of
the babies in the study would have to be followed to see if there was an
association between the infrequently stooling, happy, thriving, exclusively
breastfed infant and enopresis.  I don't think there is any evidence that the
baby who stools only a couple of times a week or less, but is growing and
happy and has a large, normal breast milk stool every few days is anything
but healthy.  I've never seen any evidence to the contrary published. Has
anyone?  We're talking just thriving breastfed babies here (after the first
month).
