One of my support group mothers recently had a negative experience during
her infant's immunization. She asked if she could nurse the baby during the
procedure and the pediatric nurse said, quite condescendingly,
"How would you like to get poked while you were drinking something?!"
The mother was not "allowed" to nurse her baby;in fact she wasn't even
allowed to hold the baby during the procedure. Several months ago there was
a research article published on the topic of decreased pain while nursing.
Can anyone give me the reference for this?
