In my particular area, I have dealt with 6 mothers with breast implants in the past 6 months.
1 gave up rather quickly due to hyper sensitivity of the nipple. No supply or function issues.
1 had some painful sensations around the scar ( armpit) and 'rusty pipe milk' from the painful side. After 1 week of gentle massage, and extra pumping, mom is now exclusively BF an baby is doing great.
1 had a slow to come in supply, despite exclusive and early BF, but baby is doing well and supply issues resolved with a little extra time.
The rest were no problems, exclusive BF, and babies doing well.
I am sorry that I don't have any studies to point you towards, just my own recent observations.
