Hi Lactnetters,

It is Saturday morning at our house and we are watching PBS Kids.  I am very
concerned about a show that we like to watch, Cyberchase.  It is a cartoon
show that focuses on science concepts.  After the cartoon segment is over,
they have a live action segment that reinforces the concepts presented in
the cartoon.

My daughter and I normally find this to be an interesting and informative
show.  This morning they had a live action segment that used formula to
determine the volume of different shapes that hold liquid.  The premise was
the babysitter was instructed by mom to prepare 9 ounces of formula, and
instructions on preparing formula were given.  Then the formula was put into
different shaped bottles, some overflowed-some did not fill all the way up.
I did not see any or hear any mention of a particular formula company.  Just
the word "formula" was used many times.

Have I made the segment clear?

I am incensed that my tax dollars that go to public broadcasting and the
donations that I make locally to public broadcasting are being used to
promote formula.

Ready to write a letter anyone?  Mine goes out Monday!
