Dear Readers: Here is a question posed to me by our
physician group. I have researched the AAP website,
various pediatric texts etc and have not found the
answer.
Question: Is there a specific "age" related to the
definition of newborn (in other words, is this the
first 4 weeks of life)? Is there a specific "age"
related to the definition of infant (lets say up to 6
months of age)? Is there a specific "age" related to
the definition of baby (lets say after 6 months)?
Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
Yours in lactation,
Debbie Colbert, RNC., IBCLC
Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
