Hi:
I have been researching Human Milk Banking for a presentation at an upcoming
Conference. Human Milk is being used to treat a number of gastrointestinal
illnesses. Maybe this mom could look into the possibilities her own milk or
banked milk might have in aiding her recovery.

The case histories I am reading are remarkable although I haven't seen one
specifically related to treating Crohn's. Banked Milk is listed as a
preventative for Crohn's Disease. Maybe it could prevent her from getting
worse. Doesn't Dr. Hale have a book that recommends treatments for
breastfeeding mother's? Does it include information about treating Crohn's?

Also, I knew of a mother who had a form of ulcerative colitis that was
treated with medication in suppository form while breastfeeding in order to
reduce the amount of medication in her milk.
Well that is my food for thought. Please keep us updated.
