There is a bi-monthly column in the Washington Post newspaper called
"Hearsay". Today's article (Business pg 1) is about the 9/11 litigation, the
person who started it (is from the area here), the other families, the
lawyers involved, the differing agendas of these parties, and about the
original main law firm which was chosen because it had experience winning all
those millions from big tobacco and asbestos suits.
It is all a big legal mess, but, what may be of interest to some on LN is all
the parallels that can be drawn and information that can be stored away for
future reference, ie; some big players, some of their experiences, and
mistakes to avoid, resources to utilize.
Also, "Hearsay" invites readers to send in "torts" to [log in to unmask]
Tort, per Merriam-Webster, Incorporated, is defined as "a wrongful act other
than a breach of contract for which relief may be obtained in the form of
damages or an injunction"
Makes me think of Eva's insightful response to the Bf related airport
security measures, the GMO/additives in formula issue, and Valeries' massive
knowledge of, and Jay Gordons' grand formula experiment conspiracy theory.
All would make intersting copy for the "Hearsay" column.
