Hi,
I had a question that I hope isn't too inane! ;-)
When one is pregnant, the breast starts producing colostrum before
delivery, right?
I am curious what (if anything?) the totally clear (transparent) liquid
that comes out before colostrum is really produced is (called)?
I stopped feeling milk letdowns at 3 months pregnant, and now beginning
my 7th month, I have started to have clear liquid come out. I remember
from my last pregnancy that this was a precursor to the colostrm, which
arrived a little later. In between the 2 (3 and 6 months along) I had
very little I produced at all.
Is this clear liquid some kind of edema? Or some other component?
It's not something I've heard talked about before is all, and I was
curious what it was, I guess in part because I had a very similar
looking liquid that used to drip out on occasion long before ever
getting pregnant (which my family doctor thought was perhaps that I had
high prolactin levels, and tested me for, but in the end I didn't), so
I'm wondering how this fits in with pregnancy and all the lactation system!
Thanks in advance!
