I attended a birth this week at my least favorite local hospital, which
claims to be breastfeeding friendly. Upon arrival, I noticed that every
nurse's badge holder said "Similac" on it. I also noticed - even worse in
my opinion - that the visitor tags they assigned to people coming into the
birth center have a clip-art type picture of a woman with a baby in her lap
bottlefeeding!!! These were tags that the birth center staff itself
generated. And every nurse's scrub jacket that I saw that evening had a
baby bottle on it somewhere. To me, this goes past "unbiased and
nonjudgemental" to pro-formula feeding. Made me sick.
