Hello Everyone, I have had an overwhelming response and have already in
less then 48 hours filled the 35,000 bags. I plan on doing this again in
June 2003. If you are interested in receiving bags then please send me via
reg. mail a 5x7 index card with your name, shipping information and how
many bags you would like to receive. The bags will be shipped out in
cartons of 100.
The sooner you get your requests in the better chance you have of receiving
bags next time around. I just totaled the requests and I have had over
80,000 bags requested!
 To answer some of your most frequently asked questions, I am a SAHM mom
who started the Project in March 2002 after the birth of my son Rowan,
whose name means "tree of life." I started the Project because I was
unhappy with the lack of accurate information and support from my doctor
and hospital regarding breastfeeding. I also was furious with the amount of
free formula I received, it was truly shameless. I searched for many months
for funding and grants but to no avail.
I funded it for a little while on my credit cards but my husband and I
decided it was getting to be too much and we're still paying it all back.
So I finally decided to make the advertisers pay, but I promised myself
that I would only allow in those companies who were WHO Code copliant and
were in no way affiliated with formula comapanies. And that is the
condensed version of how The Rowan Tree Project came to be. Please send the
