<< Hi everyone, A mom is having problems with slow let downs. From the start she decided to only pump her milk. Has a double electric and states it takes 30+ minutes to pump. Any suggestions besides having her direct feeding (she is returning to work soon and doesn't want to do that) and massaging the breasts.>>
Breast compression is far more effective than breast massage, in my experience. Rescue remedy can really help with MER. So can covering the collection bottles w/ a towel so mom isn't waiting for every drop. Also, once she stimulates MER, does she pump only for the first MER? She needs to significantly "empty" the breasts. How is her supply? If she needs to increase supply, you can send her for some More Milk Plus--it works very well (I have no affiliation). Also, is mom willing to have baby spend even comfort time at the breast?
