A dear, wise woman wrote to me before the exam, saying: "If you don't
pass this year, it just means you weren't quite ready, and you'll pass
when you are."
Many people have trouble becoming eligible to write. If you were told
you needed a few more hours, a few more courses, would you give up? I
hope not.
I'm writing this, actually, for all of those who are dealing with exam
anxiety, or with eligibility anxiety (another form of the same thing).
You are nervous, anxious, concerned, frustrated etc. because you care
about being "good enough". Being nervous, anxious, concerned, frustrated
etc. is a sign that you are good enough to care. That has to be at the
top of the list of requirements for any breastfeeding counsellor, Leader
or Lactation Consultant.
So please, please, don't go away, even into lurkdom, if things don't
work out this time.
