I have been a hospital based RN,IBCLC for a little over 6 years. We do not yet bill for services. However, I have maintained statistics regarding mothers seen on rounds, calls and consults for almost 9 years. Now, I am being joined by 2 others, one RN,IBCLC and the other RN who will take the board exam late this month. I have discovered that we don't have specific guidelines that distinguishes between a mom who is seen on rounds for whom we answer a few questions and/or give basic instructions and a mom with whom we consult (hands-on assistance). Do any of you who are also hospital-based LC's have established guidelines that you could share? It would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. (TIA) Please feel free to respond privately.
