The issue that still bothers me is how to inform the mums of the risks
who purchase their own PIS's for example and pack them away for the next
baby, as you would think should be a completely reasonable thing to do.
For many mothers buying this pump is a real investment. To inform them
that 6 months or 2 years later if they pull it out again there may be
risks of contamination from "fluff" seems completely against the
marketing and pricing of these items. These companies need to answer
these problems if they expect mums to make that investment that should
by rights and marketing last for at least 1 baby, and I am going off to
write that letter now!

As evidence based practising LC's then should we be discussing and
considering ONLY giving our support to hospital, multi user grade pumps
with new kits for each mum, and any other pump that claims there is no
risk to internal workings? I certainly feel uncomfortable about
providing information on these other pumps, at such great expense if I
cant state clearly that they are a safe long term option suitable for at
least one child.

And on the cleaning of the LActina's.Barbara wrote this

"When I rented Lactinas, I sprayed each of them after they were returned
with

Cavicide."

Please, What is Cavicide?

I have been using Dettol antibacterial wipes on the Lactina's.anybody
know if this is/isn't a great idea?
